Zubaer Najib – Welfare Officer

Zubaer Najib serves as the Welfare Officer at Black Spider Academy, where he is responsible for promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for every member of the club. His role is centred on safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, ensuring that everyone can participate in martial arts with confidence and security.

With a calm, approachable, and professional manner, Zubaer provides an independent point of contact for students, parents, coaches, and volunteers. He is committed to ensuring that any concerns regarding safeguarding, welfare, bullying, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour are listened to carefully, handled confidentially, and managed in accordance with safeguarding policies and national governing body guidance.

The Role of a Welfare Officer

The primary responsibility of a Welfare Officer is to ensure that the welfare of children and vulnerable people is always the highest priority. This includes:

Promoting a safe and positive training environment.

Acting as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns.

Supporting children, parents, coaches, and volunteers.

Ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are followed.

Working with coaches and external safeguarding agencies where appropriate.

Encouraging respect, equality, inclusion, and good conduct throughout the academy.

Helping create an environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and supported.
